Sometimes

It is hard to believe we have been traveling over the hill now for eleven years!!  Back and forth.  Back and forth we go.  There are times when for a variety of reasons we just don’t make it home.  Love that we have a home away from home!

Right Words

Last week we had an opportunity to pay it forward.  It was a week full of blessings.  But I have been searching for the right words on how I really felt.  I found them today:

“There is nothing I would not do for those who are really my friends. I have no notion of loving people by halves, it is not my nature.”

Thank you so much Jane Austen for these wonderful words.  Because they truly are the words that my heart felt all week long.

Free to Move About the Country

Friday we packed up the camper and headed to the coast.  The cool, foggy coast.  It didn't disappoint it was glorious.  And even better sharing the experience with friends.  Good food, good conservation, fun games, leisurely walk, beautiful surroundings and no technology.  Well that's not totally true we were able to listen to the Giants on KNBR.  After we got home and cleaned up (camping can be dirty) we got back in the car and headed to Novato for dinner with S1 and his wife and their friends!  It was the perfect finale to a perfect weekend!
(I'd like to show you pictures; but my camera is MIA!)

Unexpected

The best moments are the unexpected ones.  Like running into a friend when you least expect it. Since I rarely have a car at work, I usually never leave.  But every now and again I will hitch a ride with one of the girls at work when they leave to run errands.  Wednesday was one of those days.  And just by chance I ran into a great friend.  The moment was like when stars collide.  I had left one store and stopped to return a phone call on my way to the next store.  Had I not stopped I would have missed that window of opportunity.  I could have easily returned the phone call upon my return to work but no I stopped made the call, finished the call and looked up and there walking toward me was a great surprise.  I love those moments.  And what I love even more is the fact that this almost same experience happened to me last Wednesday, too.  There I was sitting down to lunch with my Bro when suddenly out of nowhere appears another wonderful friend who had decided that very day she wanted to eat at the same place we were dinning. She joined us and we had a wonderful visit the three of us.  What a wonderful Wednesday.  I can hardly wait for next Wednesday to see what chance encounter I may have..........

You're closer than you've ever been

Whenever we travelled with the kids a common question was, "how close are we?" My reply was, "we are closer than we've ever been!" This seemed to satisfy all involved. Today I spoke to my good friend Lynette who currently has a permanent grin on her face; you see next week her boys return home from serving their missions. One has been in Chile and one has been in Portugal.   Two years ago this day seemed like an eternity away; today it seems like they have only been gone six months!  But today I reminded her that she was closer than she has ever been to seeing her boys again.........and the smiling continues.

Hey and get this I bought milk today and the expiration date is November 3rd - Now that is close!
