Sleepless in Saratoga Springs

Coming off another grand September three day-weekend in Utah.  Lots of laughter, lots of good food, lots of fun……….not so much sleep.  Thank you ladies for your goodness, I had a fantastic time!  Missed you "dil2"…….looking forward to November and December when we will lose sleep again!

Sunday Goodness

I have no problems.
Once I turn a problem into a situation,
I can do something about it.
Situations are easy to deal with.
Problems are hard to fix!

Sunday Goodness

"When we come to the judgment bar of God, we will be unable to deny the fairness of the test.  We are what our choices have revealed us to be; that is the purpose of our free agency, and it achieves that purpose perfectly."  ~~Orson Scott Card

Sunday Goodness

The choices we make,
Become our habits.
The habits we form,
Become our traditions.
The traditions we maintain,
Become our culture.
Our culture is who we are!

Thanks George

"I'll tell you what I'm doing. I want to buy eight hot dogs and eight hot dog buns to go with them. But no one sells eight hot dog buns. They only sell twelve hot dog buns. So I end up paying for four buns I don't need. So I am removing the superfluous buns. Yeah. And you want to know why? Because some big-shot over at the wiener company got together with some big-shot over at the bun company and decided to rip off the American public. Because they think the American public is a bunch of trusting nit-wits who will pay for everything they don't need rather than make a stink. Well they're not ripping off this nit-wit anymore because I'm not paying for one more thing I don't need. George Banks is saying NO!"

Ever since I heard these words uttered by George (Steve Martin) in "Father of the Bride" I find myself relating more and more to this "hot dog - hot dog bun" scenario.

It is our homeowner's insurance renewal time. I HATE this time. Okay hate is a strong word.  But really people why must you make it so difficult, I don't get it.  So in this market our home is valued at less than we paid for it eight years ago according to Zillow; not that they know everything either, I know it is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it and it is not for sale.  But the insurance company wants to base our premium on a value which is approximately $200,000.00 more than current market value,  because they say that's how much it would cost to re-build the house.  So who exactly is talking to whom.  I know the insurance people are talking to no one, they have always been out of touch with reality.  In the meantime this whole process is giving me a headache.  I think I will go eat a hot dog!
