Nature

Nature, ah Mother Nature! I've learned that nature is an amazing thing. She is beauty beyond belief. She also has a fury like no other. I've seen her path of destruction; it is crazy what she can do. But nature is not just about the wind, rain, sun, etc. There is more to nature than that. Sadly on the way to work we saw a horse along side the road, who had been hit by a car. Each day we watch these horses in a pasture just outside of town. I love watching them run so freely. But what was amazing to me, although the scene was sad, it was one of the other horses standing along side the fence watching over his fallen friend! Nature we can learn so much from her!

Colorful

Growing up my favorite colors were green and yellow.   Then red came into my life and I learned what a great color it was and fell in love with it!  Blue is another special color to me. Yes, blue, blue, blue!  Recently, I learned I loved it more than ever.  It was the blue of a preboarding pass!  Made me feel like a million bucks!

The Right Way

I've learned that no matter how fast you think you can do something it doesn't matter unless you do it right.  Haste makes waste every time.  The faster I go the behinder I get.  All true.

We Know We Know

We all know how we want things to go but many times even the best laid plans just don't work out.  But I've leaned there is one thing I can always count on and that is Mr. Man.  Recently in my "in sickness and health" period he has been a true champ.  Helping me in all ways and with all needs; some things are hard to do one handed!  He has been my right-hand man!

99%

I've learned that 99% of the things I worry about never happen......99%!   Wow, that's a lot of stuff that's not going to happen.  So why spend good brain power on worry.  Not me anymore!  Having learned long ago that this worry business was such a waste of time, I simply stopped.  Now it wasn't an overnight stoppage, I had to gradually back away from it.  How I accomplished this was by setting up a time to worry about whatever it was I was worrying about at the time. After a while I didn't need my "worry time" any more!  Not that life isn't worry free but now I just don't let it consume me.  Because after all worry never solves the problem.

Two Words

In this month of learning I couldn't not mention the two words I love the most and have learned so much from.  Drum roll please.......well no not really if you know me even a tiny bit you know the two words that are at the top of my list are:

Obedience

Hope

These two words are just the tops with me.  There are other words I love but I love these two the best!

The Trunk

Yesterday I was visiting with a friend. And as friends do we were talking about many of life's daily experiences when she said something that rang true to me. That was; how important it is to stay close to the trunk, the tree trunk. When we stay close to what we know is true and don't stray too from from our roots we will become stronger. Through the years I've learned this is a truth I never want to forget.

Pain

I've learned that pain is necessary if we want to get better. Whether the pain is physical or otherwise we have to go through that pain to come out better on the other side.

Hands Down

I've learned that two hands are better than one...

(especially when you only have one)

But then again many helping hands make light work!!

Expect the Unexpected

I've learned that the best thing to expect is the unexpected.  Especially when one is traveling across Nevada.  Because you never know what you are going to see!

Sick

I usually say I'm too ornery to get sick.  That colds and flu always pass me by.  And 99% of the time they do.  I'm happy with the ornery status when it comes to these annoying life experiences.  But I've learned that when on those rare occasions I do get a pesky cold nothing I do will make it go away.  Even when I try every remedy known to mankind nothing works.  It just has to run its course.  And so I've learned to let it.

Why

When I was little my favorite question was why.  I understand the question "why" to everything was so exasperating to my mother she bought a series of books entitled "How and Why."  I still have them.  And I still ask and wonder why sometimes today.  But what I've learned through all my years of whys is that everything happens for a reason.  Even when I can't find or understand the answer, I always know there is a reason.  And just knowing that is satisfaction enough for me.  Except of course when I back out of the garage and rear end my car into my truck.  Then I'm a little hard pressed to find the reasonable reason for that!  Really there is a reason for that?
