Almost 26 years ago on the morning of Tuesday, January 28, 1986, I dropped off S2 at mother’s; I was
going to get my hair cut. I remember
this day because it was on this day the Space Shutter Challenger broke apart 73
seconds into its flight, leading to the deaths of its seven crew members. One of those crew members was a school
teacher, Sharon Christa McAuliffe. I
remember watching over and over again the newscast of the events. It was an event that for whatever reason affected
me deeply for months. I've had a lot of haircuts since that day; but that is one I will never forget!
