More on the Voyage

Since our maiden voyage was a last minute invitation, there was no cooking done in our home away from home.  In fact, we learned that the battery in the camper is very short lived and basically we had no power unless of course the truck was running.  So this trip we were lucky enough to be with friends who fed us some wonderful food.  We did bring the fixings for "s-mores" but left the “s-more sticks” at home…………we are learning.  Fortunately, they had the sticks for the roasting of the marshmallows!  The sleeping arrangements in our new home was good the first night but much better the second.  After the first night we realized we needed to “rearrange” our home so as to level out the sleep quarters……it is no fun to sleep with one’s head heading south.  This trip there were no hook ups.  We totally relied on the facilities in camp.  The next trip will be full hook ups.  It will be fun to compare the two.  Since this trip was a last minute one we learned lots and made lists of things we need for future travel.  It also made me realize that knowing what to grab if you are under pressure is a lot harder than one thinks; mainly because it is hard to think in that situation; one's mind tends to race.  I had several hours and still forget things.  I probably need to make a list and keep it in the pantry if we were ever to be evacuated or get a last minute invitation again!

Your voyage looks great...and beautiful! And great company, I might add. It was wonderful running into my dear friend today. :)

OK...I know this sounds a bit absurd...but I'm jealous!!! And my must bring list seems to change after each trip! Looks like you had a great trip and went with some great 'camping mentors'. Can't wait until we all go! (P.S. Did the girls all go too?)
